Here are some basic rules of safety that anyone on range should strongly adhere to:
Personal – Eye and Ear (hearing) protection must be worn at ALL TIMES when on a shooting range.
Officials – The Range Officer in charge must be obeyed at ALL TIMES. The “CEASE FIRE” command means stop shooting, unload your pistol, place it on the bench with the action open & muzzle pointing down range, stand back and wait for further instructions from the Range Officer.
Range Safety – All Pistols must point down range at all times and must be cleared by the Range Officer before target scoring/changes or removing from the bench or range.
Range Rules – Each range has limitations and particular aspects of safety that are set out in the Range Rules. It is your responsibility to make yourself familiar with these rules and make sure your shooting activities are conducted within those rules.
Attitude – Manage the handgun at all times as though it is loaded. NEVER point it at anything you are not prepared to shoot.
Hygiene – Wash hands thoroughly after shooting to remove heavy metal contaminants and toxic solvents/oils from the hands.
